The Holy Spirit is ever committed to guiding us but it is left to decide if we will listen to Him or not.
Lord Colonize me!!!
So many believers pray this prayer but lack the understanding of what it means to be colonized by God.
You are asking God to colonize you but you are still struggling to adhere to simple instruction from God.
Maybe you don't know what it means to be colonized.
Let's take Nigeria as an example. The British colonized Nigeria. During this period, the British controlled the administration, legal structure, education and even enforced English as the official language.
When a country is been colonized, the people have no say in the administration of their country because a more powerful country has taken over.
Every country that colonizes another, comes to settle there. They establish their government and take control.
When we gave our life to Christ we became citizens of God's kingdom and He gave us the government of the Holy spirit.
One beautiful thing about the government of the Holy spirit is that unlike other government that rule with force He leads with love and intentionality.
But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you. John 14:26 (AMP)
The Holy spirit begins to reveal the plans of God for our life one after the other depending on our obedience.
Lack of obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit hinders Him from revealing the next step.
A life that wants to be colonized by God must start by obeying the supposing 'little instructions "
Instructions like: to forgive those who have hurt you, to make that call you've been avoiding to those you've been avoiding, simple instruction like to keep greeting people who intentionally ignore you when you greet them.
We all know some of this instructions because we have at one time or the other ignored that tiny voice within us.
I want to say again emphatically that, you can not be colonized by God (God's kingdom can not be established in you) if you keep disobeying His leading.
Remember that the life you now live is no longer your's. If you are truly born again, you are now under the government of the Holy spirit.
He does not lead with force buy with love and intentionality. He will never force anything on us.
